The Grand Buffet, Hong Kong

Yesterday, hubby and I visited the Grand Buffet in Hopewell center, Wan Chai. It was my first visit and it surpassed my expectations!

You take the lift at street level to the 62nd floor. From the restaurant you can see the harbour skyline of Hong Kong. We went during the dinner buffet, which begins at 8.30 and ends at 10.45 pm. The restaurant is famous for being a rotating restaurant. Basically there is a rotating platform which you are seated at and enjoy a panoramic view of Hong Kong. The restaurant takes 66 minutes to fully rotate. It is truly marvelous.

We had a table right beside the window, which we were surprised about. We also had no other guests dining next to us, so it was very private! I do hate crowds. The buffet was delicious and I enjoyed trying new things such as Swiss Roti and Fried Ice cream. ( Back on track today of course!)

The price for the dinner buffet was just shy of 800HKD each. The table next to us were celebrating a birthday, so for a special occasion this restaurant is ideal. We are planning to bring our in laws here at some point.

I recommend this dinner for anyone with guests visiting or a first timer in Hong Kong. It is a bit pricey but for me, I prefer the views at the Grand Buffet to those at the Peak. And you don’t need to suffer endless queuing!

To get to the Hopewell center, come out of exit D of Wan Chai MTR. Head to the end of Lee Tung Avenue and cross over to Hopewell center.
