The Grand Taiwanese Buffet.

Yesterday, Hubby and I were invited to his Mum’s-cousin’s-house for dinner. We arrived at six, to a grand feast laid on the table and ten hungry Taiwanese relatives waiting to be fed. We sat down to eat, and every time we finished a dish, a new one appeared. It was such a marvel. Grateful, to the hardworking cooks in the kitchen, we begun to feel full after the piles of vegetables, noodles, the soups, the dumplings, chicken, beef, prawns and lamb for Hubby. After that came Tong Yuen soup, which I love, it has small sesame balls inside. When everyone had finished eating, there came stir fried noodles with seafood (“They love seafood”, said Hubby). We ate sliced apple and fruit, before departing. When we said our goodbyes we were also laden down with snacks, apricots, nuts, shrimp chips and fruit. I just remember thinking, “Is it always like this?”.

I hope you all have a prosperous and auspicious Year of the Dog!
