So I thought I was doing quite a good job with my budget and following very Lagom principles of spending. I was listening to Dave Ramsey recently on Youtube, and decided to redo my budget. Wow. I realised that I my budget wasn’t as rigid as I thought.
Although we don’t have any subscriptions or memberships, we do spend a lot of money on eating out and buying snacks. I was planning the budget and listening to people’s stories of how they got debt free. I found it really inspiring. Hubby and I have student loans, although we are lucky that this is our only debt.
Ramsey recommends making a monthly budget, which I think is great. Especially when there are festivals, birthdays and weddings in certain months. For instance we will be giving some laih see for a family wedding next month. So this will need to be added to the month’s budget.
Minimalism is definitely a lifestyle choice that reduces your expenses and makes you question the things you bring into your home. I have linked some interesting podcasts below about the concept of minimalism.
